Sunflowers, with their large, cheerfully-bright blooms, are among the most widely recognized summer-time flowers. They provide an important nectar source for honey bees, and farmers often plant some in their summer/fall vegetable gardens to attract pollinators closer to - and hopefully into - the crop flowers.
